Lawn games are a great way to add fun, competition, and variety to any outdoor gathering you have planned this summer.
Here are some fun lawn games to try out:
- Washers:
This is a fun twist on the traditional carnival ring throw game. Here, you need a little more precision. That’s because this game requires you to throw a 2.5-inch washer within a small box, and a smaller box inside that for more points. It’s a precision game that’s a great way to keep everyone entertained and keep the party alive!
- Cornhole:
A similar game to Washers is Cornhole, and it’s the perfect BBQ game with guests! Here, all you need to do is cut a hole in a slanted board and make a few stuffed cushions or bags, or you could purchase one of many pre-made sets!
The objective of this game is to throw as many of your bags into the hole as you can. You can decide the distance for yourself. Some versions of this game give three points for sinking your shot and one point for landing your bag on the board! This game is highly competitive, but relatively safe thanks to the soft bags you’ll be throwing around.
- Badminton:
A quintessential lawn game, badminton requires racquets, a shuttlecock, and a net, though the last one’s optional. It can also be played competitively or cooperatively. Just lob the shuttle back and forth till one of you fails to hit it, and keep a tally of the points. It’s a game that can keep everyone entertained for many hours!
