Multisport Masters

Being at the top of your game is one thing, but being able to perform at a high level in a multitude of sports is another talent altogether. Over the years, some incredible athletes have excelled in more than their primary sport.

Here are three elite athletes who have shown that talent can transcend more than one game:

  • Bo Jackson:

Bo Jackson was drafted as the first pick in the 1986 NFL Draft, but he chose to play baseball instead. He was called up to the major leagues and played from 1986 to 1994 and also made the all-star team in 1989, and was named MVP.

Jackson also played in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders, from 1987 up to 1990. In his final season, Jackson made it to the Pro Bowl. He was also awarded the Heisman in his college football career.

  • Deion Sanders:

Sanders was a true athlete – having played baseball, football and also running track in college. He continued to play the former two well into his career. He’s better known as a football player, and contributed to two Super Bowl Championships.

With baseball, he played for nine seasons and also made an appearance in the World Series for the Atlanta Braves back in 1992.

  • Dave Logan:

Logan was most famous for playing football, where he played nine seasons as a wide receiver, a majority of which he did with the Cleveland Browns.

He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 1972 but he attended college and played basketball and football. He was also drafted for the Kansas City Kings in the NBA, showcasing his athletic prowess in three sports.

If you could master two sports, what would they be?
