NFL Records that Still Stand

Football has the ability to produce incredibly dramatic results. It’s an exciting sport to watch and pushes players to the limit.

Here are some remarkable NFL statistics that have yet to be broken:

  • Most interceptions – Brett Favre

Brett Favre’s long career of long passes means that his record of 336 interceptions might not ever be broken. The current era of intermediate and short passes mean that present and future quarterbacks won’t take as many chances going downfield.

  • Four Superbowl losses in a row – Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills made it to a remarkable four straight finals, only to end up losing each one of them. From 1990-93, the Bills lost by one point in the first of their run, only to end up losing out by an average of 16.5 points for the next three years.

  • Biggest loss – Washington Redskins

The most one-sided game in NFL history happened in the 1940 NFL Championship Game. The Chicago Bears were able to score 11 touchdowns and had nine turnovers to completely destroy the Redskins in their home turf, 73-0.

  • Most receiving yards – Jerry Rice

Jerry Rice’s remarkable career peaked after he turned 30, allowing him to break the record for most receiving yards. His total stands now at 22,895 yards, a number that seems unassailable.

These incredible statistics are an indicator of how football can produce winners and losers in dramatic fashion.
