Two-player Basketball Dribbling Drills

Basketball requires precise hand-eye coordination. From amazing dribbling skills, to shooting under pressure, assisting and rebounding, basketball requires you to be constantly on the move, with your hands doing all the work.

Dribbling is one of the main aspects of the game and there are certain drills which can help improve hand-eye coordination, both stationary and on-the-move.

Here are some interesting 2-player dribbling drills:

  • 2-ball kill dribble:

In this drill, you dribble both the balls at waist height at the side and then “kill” them as you go low. You need to go as low as possible before bringing them back to waist height and killing them low again.

You can attempt this drill both on the move and up and down the floor. Make sure you have a jump stop just before you “kill” the balls and go forward once more, bringing the ball up to waist-height.

  • Alternative piston drills

Get into a good position and dribble both the balls at waist height, but on alternate sides. One ball needs to be up, while the other is down, like a piston, before passing it onto the next teammate in the same motion.

  • Low-high

Here, you can dribble one ball low and the other high on either hand. Once you pass a certain time, you can hand it over to your teammate and let them continue the drill.

These are some of the fun yet challenging 2-player dribbling skills to practice with your teammate. Good luck!
